Unity Ads bulk campaign management: what the sheets cover

Unity’s Bulk Campaign Management lets you create and edit many campaigns through three .xlsx sheets: Campaign Setups, Bids and Source Bids. It cannot bulk-edit budgets or daily budgets, and it cannot create a new campaign that uses Automated Bidding. Past those two limits, our reading is that you use the dashboard or the API.

What Bulk Campaign Management is

According to Unity’s Bulk Campaign Management page, the tool lets you edit or create multiple campaigns at a time. Unity describes it as a codeless alternative to the Unity User Acquisition Management API, and as faster than managing campaigns one by one in the User Acquisition dashboard. It runs on three .xlsx spreadsheets, and each campaign is managed in its own set.

What each of the three sheets does

The same Unity page lists these jobs per sheet:

Sheet File name on Unity’s page What you can do
Campaign Setups app_campaign_setups.xlsx Add new campaigns, edit targeting settings, edit schedules, add or edit attribution links, assign or unassign creative packs
Bids app_bids_spreadsheet.xlsx Add new countries to targeting, manage country bids for multiple campaigns, remove countries
Source Bids app_bids_spreadsheet.xlsx (as listed) Manage source bids for multiple campaigns

Unity’s page lists Source Bids under the same file name as Bids. Check which sheet a file actually holds when you export it, before you edit anything.

The sheets assign and unassign existing creative packs. The page does not list uploading creatives among the sheet jobs.

Bid precision

According to Unity’s Bulk Campaign Management page, bids take up to three decimal places. Import validation uses the formatted value, not the raw one: a cell formatted as .001 that holds .0009 is applied as .001. If you calculate bids with formulas, round them in the cell instead of relying on cell formatting.

What the sheets can’t do

Two limits are stated outright on Unity’s page. The first: “You can’t currently use spreadsheets to bulk-edit campaign budgets or daily budgets.”

The second: you can’t use spreadsheets to create a new campaign that uses Automated Bidding. You can export, import and modify existing Automated Bidding campaigns, but only with the Bids and Source Bids exports.

Our reading of that last sentence: it names only two sheets, so Campaign Setups changes (schedules, creative packs, attribution links) are not covered for those campaigns. Test on one campaign before you rely on it.

What Unity’s page doesn’t say

The page does not give:

  • a limit on rows or campaigns per file;
  • the step-by-step import and export flow (it sits on a separate “Campaign management templates” page that we did not read);
  • whether you can pause, archive or delete campaigns through the sheets (none of these is listed as supported);
  • any file format other than .xlsx.

Without a stated row limit, start with a small batch and check the result in the dashboard before you upload a workbook with hundreds of rows.

Where spreadsheets fit and where you hit the wall

Sheets fit work where one change repeats across many campaigns: country bids, source bids, schedule shifts, creative pack swaps, new campaigns that share a structure. You export, edit in bulk and import. Keep the original export as your before-state, because a workbook does not record who changed what.

You hit the wall in three places:

  1. Budgets and daily budgets. The sheets do not cover them.
  2. New Automated Bidding campaigns. The sheets do not create them.
  3. Anything outside the listed jobs, such as pausing. Unity’s page does not list it as a sheet job.

How this relates to the API

Unity’s API campaign management page says the Advertiser Public API lets you manage advertising campaigns programmatically. It lists apps, campaigns, bids, source bids, ROAS goals, budgets, creatives and creative packs as manageable. You find it in the dashboard under Settings > API management. Budgets are on that list, so the budget gap in the sheets is not a gap in the API’s documented scope.

Per Unity’s What’s new page, a September 2026 change made the Advertiser Public API the replacement for the Advertising Management API (/advertise/v1). Existing integrations that call the old API should migrate.

Access has one trap. According to Unity’s page on locating advertiser credentials, you must assign an organization role to the service account after you generate a key, and requests from an account with no role fail with a 403 error and an Invalid Credentials message. Campaign management needs an Advertise API role for each resource you manage (What’s new in User Acquisition). Our reading of “each resource”: a script that edits budgets needs a role that covers budgets, not only campaigns. For the 403 error see Unity Ads API 403 Invalid Credentials; for migration see the Advertiser Public API guide.

The pages we read for this article do not give API rate limits or an example request. They also do not say whether the API can create a new Automated Bidding campaign. Check both before you plan around it. Uploading creatives has its own per-app limits, covered in Unity Ads creative upload limits.

Which route for which job

Job Spreadsheets API (per the pages we read)
Create many campaigns Yes (Campaign Setups) Campaigns are listed as manageable
Edit country bids Yes (Bids) Bids are listed as manageable
Edit source bids Yes (Source Bids) Source bids are listed as manageable
Bulk-edit budgets and daily budgets No Budgets are listed as manageable
Create a new Automated Bidding campaign No Not stated on the pages we read
Pause, archive or delete campaigns Not listed Not stated on the pages we read

Doing this in DarkCore Ramet

DarkCore Ramet takes the API route, not spreadsheets. In bulk launch you pick apps and geos once and get a campaign for each pair, with a preview before anything is sent. The queue sends campaigns at the pace Unity allows, and each change is read back from Unity before it counts as done and is logged with who made it. Bulk edit changes bids, daily budgets or pause state across campaigns and cabinets.

In DarkCore Ramet

Change budgets across campaigns without a spreadsheet

DarkCore Ramet bulk-edits bid, daily budget and pause across campaigns and cabinets through the official Unity API, and reads each change back from Unity.
